So I had tried off and on for 3 days to get Tweetdeck installed but it did not work. I kept receiving the error “The application could not be installed. Try installing it again. If the problem persists, contact the application author… Error# 0.” I received the same error attempting to install Adobe Air on it’s own. Apparently I had an older version installed already from a few weeks ago when i installed the Adobe Photoshop CS4 trial. It would not let me update.
Finally today, i found a fix that worked. If you have the same issue, download and install the “Windows Installer CleanUp Utility“. Adobe Air will show in the list. Remove it. I was then able to install the newest version and get Tweetdeck installed.

Your welcome! I am so glad.
Thanks for this, it saved me
I assume that you do have have admins rights on your computer? I’m guessing yes since you were able to run the cleanup tool.
I did a Google search, and I am betting this will work for you. See http://techburgh.com/blog/2008/12/28/fix-adobe-...
Good luck! Let me know if it works.
Am using Mac OSX. All screens but search were blank this morning. Have done everything I can but cannot get messages back or TweetDeck to work.
What do I do?
@M. Murray Threipland,
That happens to be, I just restart it and it’s usually OK then.
Thanks a lot!

On my personal laptop, I get the “Error# 0″ message you mention in this post. I installed Windows Installer CleanUp Utility. Adobe Air wasn’t in the list but I removed Adobe Reader, just in case. (I’m not a tech girl!)
I then tried installing Adobe Air and couldn.t Got a message saying my administrator might not allow this.
Ideas? Thanks for any help.
I’ve had similar problems with adobe before, I love their software but I hate how they leave remnant of programs that you’ve uninstalled.
