This is annoying the crap out of me. I use a Mac at work. The Google widget and bar both work fine on Safari 4.0.3 and in Google Chrome for Windows. It also works fine in IE 6. It does NOT work in Firefox for Mac or Windows, or in IE 8. The bar is blank and the Widget just shows a white box. I’m trying to get more followers folks!
A google search shows that this is a common issue, but I have found no fixes at at. If anyone genius out there has ideas, please let me know.
UPDATE: I found at fix for this at http://birdbra.in/2009/fix-empty-blue-google-friend-connect-gfc-bar-in-wordpress/. The update is fairly simple. Open up the Widget for Google Connect, and above that code, paste in:

Hi there! Mine has just started doing this again recently, and even the fix in the link (which is now dead) no longer fixes it. I have not found a fix yet and I see that tons of people are having the issue. But if I find one I will be sure to share it with you.
im having the same problem, but it seems that urs hasnt been fixed yet.. i'm on firefox 3.5.5 and i can see a blue bar across the bottom, but just that, light blue bar.. have u tried it with other versions of firefox?

Wish I knew the answer to this one, all that I could find is that it’s a bug (not sure if the problem is with the browsers or the connect bar) but at the time of this comment posting this particular post ranks 3rd on google for the search phrase “blank google connect bar” lol.
