I Really Should Use My Mobile Broadband More

I wrote a while ago about using a service such as http://www.broadbandexpert.com to help find the best mobile broadband in your area. I had checked out a few high speed internet providers in my area to pick one. For the time being, I settled on using Comcast High Speed 2 Go as my service. Since then we have had some advancements in mobile phones which allow you to use broadband access, as well as some additions in the mobile arena to choose from. I have been wondering what might the advantage be to each.

I can think of pros and cons for both. I have not really decided for sure just yet. For now I like having the option separate from my cell phone, so if I want to loan it to someone else, or step away for a call I do not have to disconnect my wireless internet and interrupt the work that might be occurring.  There are some phones that you let do both, there are some that do not. But it’s nice to know that they are not tied together.

So did you take the plunge yet? Are you using a mobile broadband service? Or do you use your phone to tether? I admit that I have not used my service as much as I could. I am sort of telling myself  ”Ok, you are paying for this thing, now you better use it”.  But it is very nice to have the option. I have a couple of road trips coming up and I am excited about having it with me so that I can be connected and keep busy. I am looking forward to it. I feel like one of the cool kids. :)
