Let’s face it… Transformers are cool. They have been cool since I was a kid. I had several of the toys. 🙂 Of course, now they have transformed (pun intended) and they are more than just little toys that we fight with to turn them robots to cars. Now they are a movement! Do I sound like a commercial yet? LOL! But it’s true… with the movies that have come out over the past few years, plus the revamping of the cartoons, they are back full force. And if you have little boys… you know all about it!
Anyway, at 6 years of age my boys love toys and they love the Transformers so I was happy to be asked to review one of the new Transformers Prime Beast Hunters toys. We received Smokescreen. He’s an Autobot. Smokescreen transforms to a very cool white sports car complete with Electronet Launcher (photo below).
What is an Autobot?
The Autobots are one of the primary factions in the Transformers mythos. They usually find themselves defending both their own race and other species against the Decepticons and upholding justice and freedom throughout the galaxy.
They are considered “the good guys” in most, but not in all Transformers stories.
Now, I must say that I am not very good at transforming, but luckily each toys comes with instructions. And once you try it a couple of times, it becomes super easy. Here is the completed car:
The story goes that with Bumblebee injured Smokescreen has to step up his game to defend against the Predacons. He uses his spy abilities to infiltrate a remote Decepticon lab.
Priced between $14.99 – $19.99, the Transformers Beast Hunters Deluxe toys are priced low enough to buy a whole collection for your little robot and car lover. Each toy comes with a part of the story. Smokescreen comes with Chapter 10. The story continues in Chapter 11 with Voyager Shockwave.
There are several toys available including more in the Beast Hunters Deluxe line, the Beast Hunters Voyager Class, and the Kre-O Transformers Beast Hunters line. There is even a Kre-O Transformers Beast Hunters Ripclaw Strike Building set. Ican just picture that spread all over my family room…
