I may not have a foodie blog, but I am definitely a foodie. I love to cook, and I love to eat. However, I have to admit that sometimes I do not want to spend hours in the kitchen preparing a meal. With a houseful of 6 it can be a lot of cooking! This is especially true when the weather breaks and Spring and Summer are upon us. At times it can be too warm out to want to stand over a hot stove. There are other things to be done like gardening, family outings, play dates, and soaking up the sun!
During the week we are usually on the run so eating out or fixing something quick is normal. However on Sundays I love to make up for it by fixing a large, home cooked meal. But this still does not mean that I have to slave over a hot stove! This is where your slow cooker or Crockpot can help.
I own 2 slow cookers. I have a older low-end GE Slow Cooker that I picked up from Walmart. And I own a Ninja 3-in-1 cooking system that I got during a Ninja event here in Chicago. Check out this post on Chitownmoms.net about the event.
They both work great although that Ninja is king! Being able to brown, saute, and use the slow cooker function all in the same device is a huge timesaver!
What are some of your favorite slow cooker recipes?
