There is something quite exciting about watching races. It amazing me that the drivers can drive sooo fast. I could never do it. Heck, I drove like a little old lady when I had the the chance to drive a go-kart around the parking lot at Soldier field. I will never win any awards there. LOL! However, I do love to watch!
One of those awesome drivers is Citizen Brand Ambassador Matt Kenseth. The two-time Daytona 500 Champion will be racing into Chicago tomorrow morning for a day filled with fun, excitement, and a bit of driving. He’s coming to town to celebrate the launch of Citizen’s new Satellite Wave World Time GPS watch.
Watch Matt Kenseth on WGN Morning News
The day starts out with a visit to my favorite morning news show, WGN Chicago. I’ll be there bright and early as the day’s events get underway. Matt will be interviewed and race go-karts against some of our favorite personalities. We’ll also be raising awareness for the 100 Club Chicago a civilian organization that provides for the families of first responders who have lost their lives in the line-of-duty. Be sure to tune in on tomorrow morning, September 9th at 9:40 AM.
Watch me on Periscope During the Press Luncheon
Tune in to @LittleTechGirl on Periscope at 11:00 am to catch some of the press luncheon. We will meet Matt, take some photos, check out the Chicago Sports Museum, and listen to Matt speak about his life and career. He will also tell us about his upcoming race at Chicagland Speedway on September 20th.
Meet Matt at Orland Park Mall
I was quite excited when I read the part of the agenda detailing that Matt will be at Roger’s and Holland at Orland Park Mall. Orland is my favorite mall. I’ve been going there for years. I frequent the area. My wedding was actually right across the street and I’ve hosted a couple of events there. This just means that I won’t get lost on the way. LOL. Anyway… come on out and meet Matt from 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM. During this time Citizen will be donating a percentage of the proceeds from Satellite Wave-World Time GPS watch sales to 100 Club Chicago, a great charity that provides educational scholarships to children of First Responders. It is such a great cause.
The Satellite Wave-World Time GPS
I’ve mentioned before that I have a bit of a watch fetish. I have a few. 🙂 Well this watch seems as smart as it can be without officially being considered a smartwatch. It is a big pricey with a MSRP of $1,150.00, but it sure is nice!
It is based on Citizen’s Eco-Drive Technology which means that you never have to change a battery. This fancy timepiece also features a satellite GPS timekeeping system with worldwide reception area. The satellite reception speed is only 3 seconds. It features world Time in 27 cities (40 time zones).
Can you say wow? Now that is a watch!
Those are just some of the settings of this fabulous watch. To see them all check out the Citizen web page.
I am looking forward to tomorrow. I’ll be on hand all day to provide a play-by-play of the day’s events. Be sure to follow me on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and especially Periscope (@LittleTechGirl) where I’ll be sharing all day!
Disclosure: I’m a compensated participant in the day’s events. All opinions are my own.
