When I received the products that Master Lock sent for my July and August reviews the timing could not have been more perfect. It was just what I needed at this time. You may have noticed that I’ve been pretty scarce over the past couple of weeks. If I were to say that it has been busy here that would be an understatement. I touched on what was going on a while ago. I’ve been a purging fool. Why? Well after 10 years in this house, it is time to move on! My husband and I will be moving into a new home in a few short months.
I’ve been purging for a couple of reasons. First, 6 people living in a home for 10 years have a way of accumulating stuff! When selling your home, you want it to present well. So, it’s important to purge all unnecessary items from your home. You may hear, “look at the bones of the home and ignore the junk.” But trust me, you will have better luck selling your home if it is presentable, and lacking clutter. I watch HGTV quite a bit, and one of the first things that they tell people when preparing to sell, “Declutter!” In the past couple of months, I have been through every room in my home packing up, donating, and throwing away items that were not needed.
Last week there were viewings. My mind was filled with thoughts of strangers roaming through my house. They would be in every room, probably opening closet doors, and looking in places where company usually does not look. I mean I get it; you have to look at the home to determine if you want buy it, but naturally I was a bit concerned.
One of my main concerns was the amount of computing equipment in my home. If you read my blog you know that I review a lot of electronics, and my home, especially my office, is an indicator of this. I wanted to make sure that I secured most of the extra electronics. I wanted them to know that they were buying a house, not a mini computer store. 🙂
The Sentry Safe PL048E Portable Laptop Safe is perfect for my needs.
I was able to fit two 15.4” laptops, one 13.3”, and a tablet inside, lock it securely, and stash it in a safe place. And there was still room for small items like smartphones on the side.
The PL048E securely locks in 2 ways. You set up a combination code, but the safe also includes a key that allows you to disable the combination code. You can then take the key with you for safe keeping.
The other item that I received is the Master Lock 1548DCM Backpack Lock. It allows you to securely lock your backpack using zippers, or loops.
This keeps prying eyes and hands out of it. You can also use it on luggage, sports gear, and anywhere else it fits. This lock allows you to easily set your own 3-digit combination. I will get great use out of this while traveling!
Master Lock is giving 2 of my readers their own Master Lock 1548DCM Backpack Lock. Enter below!
