Quite a while ago, I made a list of dream brands that I wanted to work with. And I made another list of companies that I wanted to work with on house stuff since we were building and would be decorating and personalizing our builder spec home. Among the names on both of those lists was Lowe’s. So, when I got an email from Lowe’s saying that they wanted to work with me, I was overjoyed! If I knew how to do a cartwheel I would have! Manifest it… and it shall come!
As much as I love getting new things to review, something else that I love to do is help people. I have been blessed to have quite a few “Oprah moments” during my blogging career. And each one just about makes me happier than the last!
As luck would have it, my first task for Lowe’s was to review a Bosch 100 Series dishwasher… that I did not need (more on that later). I asked if I could gift it and they agreed! My mind started working. I already had someone in mind. I remembered that my friend, neighbor, landscape guy, and realtor (yes, he wears that many hats), Gabe, had been doing work on his house. I thought that I remembered that they needed a dishwasher. They had upgraded the appliances in the kitchen, but they still had an old-fashioned white dishwasher.
I sent him a message that I always send to those that I’m looking to “hook up”.
He eventually responded correctly and I told him that he was getting a new Bosch dishwasher! It was installed at the end of July. He and his wife received an awesome new Bosch 100 series dishwasher. They are loving it! It looks SO much better in the space!
And not only is it beautiful, but very, very quiet. In fact, at only 48 dBAs it is so quiet that you may not know it’s on! If you didn’t know, the Bosch brand is one of the quietest dishwashers that you can buy. Because of this, there is a red blinking light that projects on the floor so you know it’s on.
Features I Love
The 3rd Rack
I didn’t know how awesome a 3rd rack was until I experienced a dishwasher with one. This is a great place to put silverware, thin utensils, and small stuff like pacifiers and travel mug parts that might otherwise fall through the larger racks.
RackMatic® Adjustable Racks
With some dishwashers, you are limited in what you can put where. Taller glasses might not fit on the top rack, and large trays could be too tall for the bottom rack. RackMatic lets you adjust your top rack. It offers 3 height levels, for 9 possible rack positions. This is a game changer!! I always end up washing pizza trays, large oven trays, or tall glasses because they just will not fit. With the RackMatic I would not have to do this anymore!
Speed60 Cycle
The usual cycle is pretty long, over 3 hours. It is designed this way to use less water and energy and save you money. But… do you always want to wait that long for clean dishes? Nope. Sometimes you might need to do two loads in that time, or prep for a party. The Speed60 cycle gives you the option of a 1-hour wash and dry cycle for lighter loads.
Sleek Stainless Steel Fingerprint-Resistant Finish
Fingerprints on my appliances bug me! I am constantly looking at my fridge and thinking “I should really wipe that down.” But, with a house full of people, including 4 kids, I would be wiping all day if I wanted to keep my appliances shiny. Fingerprint-resistant finishes help with this. You will wipe less! And this makes me very happy.
Hidden Controls
I’m not against buttons. However, there is something very sleek and modern about a dishwasher with no buttons on the front. The Bosch 100 looks great with its hidden panel of buttons on the edge of the door. The function is still the same, but the look is much better. Those buttons include 5 different cycles and 4 options to customize your wash.
The Installation
Dishwashers are a pretty standard size. If you have one now, chances are that a new one will fit in the space with no problem. And from what I’ve seen, installing a dishwasher is not all that hard. Actually, I removed one recently, and it was pretty simple. If you are handy, you can probably swap one out yourself. But why risk it?
We had a professional handle the install and I’m so glad that we did! There were a couple of hiccups that he was able to handle right away with no sweat… because he knew what he was doing. If we attempted the install I guarantee it would have taken much longer.
After the new dishwasher was installed, we took a quick look at it and talked about the features. We were both impressed by the options.
Another great feature is that the Bosch 100 Series Dishwasher is equipped with an EcoSense Wash Management system. This means that your dishwasher will examine the amount of dirt in the water and adjust the wash cycle accordingly using 48 different options. There is also a half load option which allows you to run the dishwasher only half full. This reduces the energy used by 30%.
I have to admit, I’m a bit jealous that Gabe and Angel got the Bosch dishwasher. But again, it makes me happy to make others happy. And I know that they are very happy with their new dishwasher. I have talked with Gabe a couple of times since the dishwasher was installed and he and they are loving it. I mean… how could they not?
If you are looking for one of the quietest, most efficient dishwashers on the market, head to Lowe’s and check out the Bosch 100 Series dishwasher. Currently priced at $674 at Lowe’s, you can save an additional 10% by rebate if purchased now through 8/22. you can even get free delivery.
