Tweetdeck, Twitter “rate limit exceeded”
This gets me everyday. I finally decided to look it up today to see exactly what it means. Here is great explanation.

Ok, so I just found the coolest Wordpress plugin (for today) by accident. It is WPtouch: Wordpress on iPhone. It automatically formats your blog for an iPhone when visited… well, from an iPhone! It’s looks really cool, includes Ajax, and a very neat menu at the top. Here are some screen shots.

So, I have 3 websites/blogs that I maintain, this one, http://doubletwinz.com and http://caincreative.biz. I also have a few other domains that I do stuff with, and a few that I have been holding to do something with… some day! One of these is http://kristilecain.com. My idea for this domain is for it to be my main page, and portal to my other sites. Currently I am just testing Drupal on there which is something that I have not really used in ages. It’s ok, but it’s no Wordpress.
I would LOVE to do a cool pretty blingy flash based site, but umm.. I haven’t gotten around to learning Flash yet! So for now, I may just drop the Drupal and do a simple nicely decorated plain old fashioned html page. GASP!!
Unless someone has a better idea for me.

So I had tried off and on for 3 days to get Tweetdeck installed but it did not work. I kept receiving the error “The application could not be installed. Try installing it again. If the problem persists, contact the application author… Error# 0.” I received the same error attempting to install Adobe Air on it’s own. Apparently I had an older version installed already from a few weeks ago when i installed the Adobe Photoshop CS4 trial. It would not let me update.
Finally today, i found a fix that worked. If you have the same issue, download and install the “Windows Installer CleanUp Utility“. Adobe Air will show in the list. Remove it. I was then able to install the newest version and get Tweetdeck installed.

For those that don’t know, I am a Photoshop fanatic! I use it daily for something or other, photo editing, creating logos, greeting cards, etc. etc.
The web is your friend big time when looking for tutorials on how to do cool things in PS. @darcygregoire over at http://www.darcygregoire.com posted this Tut today on creating Rays of light. I will sure be using this for a project soon!

Oh, and interesting that we are using the same Wordpress theme.

As you can see by the tools in the sidebar at the right, I have started using Twitter. I have heard about it forever, but at first didn’t see the point, so I never checked it out. I just finally signed up a few days ago and have started posting “tweets”. It’s a quick way to get small chunks of info out to your friends, family, or “followers”. And thanks to some smart folks who have written good plugins, it integrates well into Wordpress. It’s great for bringing traffic to your blog.
I have tested out Twitter Tools by Alex King. It is a great plugin, but there appears to be a major bug in it causing it to just stop posting tweets when you post new blog posts. Several users are having the issue with the newest version and have downgraded to previous versions. I just turned off that function and am just using it to post my Twitter tweets to my sidebar here and on Doubletwinz.com.
For the other part, posting my blog posts to Twitter, I am using Twitme. It had issues at first too with consistency, but the author has released a new version that seems to fix the problem.
Are you all tweeting? If not, check it out, and follow me at http://twitter.com/littletechgirl.

Most of us have been waiting for this forever, and now it’s here. You can have a tasks list right in your Gmail account. Also, it can be poppe out to float independently on your screen similar to Gmail chat. And, even better, you can have more than one list. I created one for Household, Personal, Business, etc. I love that no matter where I go, I will now have my tasks. Now, I just need to figure out how to get them on my iPhone. I’m sure they will add that soon.
To add it to your account, click on Settings at the top of your account, then Labs, and then Enable button and save. You will then have “Tasks” over in the lefthand column under Contacts. Read more on the Google Blog.

Well, I always joke that Gmail is taking over the world, and here they go again. Now, right in your gmail window, while chatting with a friend, you can do a video chat.
I have not tried it out yet. I need to get a guinea pig on the other end. The only drawback I see though is that you have to install a browser plug-in. This is not a problem for most folks, but some cooperate users like gmail because their company allows them to use it without needing to install anything on their machines, so if they are interesting in video chat, they will not be able to use it.
I will post more once I have tested it.
