I am only 37. Yes, only is a relative word. I am close to 40, but as far as I’m concerned I am still young. I am certainly too young to have already lost so many friends my age to cancer. More than zero is too many if you ask me. I’m ready for some good news on the subject. And that is why I am writing. I want to send all the good vibes that I can to my friend Brandie. She recently found out that she has breast cancer.
Brandie is the cutest, sweetest, most innocent, genuine person that you would ever meet. She is a fellow “mom blogger”. I first met her last spring on the Galena Moms trip. We spent 2 days together acting like silly school girls, and it was awesome.
On that trip we learned that it was super easy to make Brandie blush (as illustrated above). It seems almost funny that she is now battling something that causes her to have to talk about her boobs all the time. She wrote a post about this recently.
The photo above is Brandie on the phone telling her husband that she just won a new Kenmore Washer and Dryer at a Kenmore Live Studios function. At that time we all thought that she was the luckiest woman in the world. Why? Her dryer had just broken down a few days before!
We want to show Brandie some love and support as she gears up for surgery this Wednesday. I’ll be seeing her at an event tomorrow and I cannot wait to give her a huge hug (or 50)! And guess what?? TODAY IS HER BIRTHDAY!!!!
Everyone, even if you are not a mom blogger, not in the Chicago area, or don’t really ever care PLEASE head over to Brandie’s blog and leave her a comment of encouragement and some happy birthday wishes. While there you can read her story of how the diagnosis came about. Or, send her a tweet on Twitter. She needs some prayers to OVERCOME THIS asap!!!
