My Baby’s Beat iPhone App

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this idea. No, I am not pregnant. No, I am not planning to be pregnant anytime soon. However, when I was asked to review this app I jumped at it because it was so me. When I was pregnant with my girls I used a Baby Beat Audio Doppler to listen to their heartbeats. It was considered a fancy gadget for paranoid moms. But, I loved doing it. We would listen every night. And, there was an audio jack that allowed me to plug it in to my computer and record. I still have the recordings. 🙂

Looks intimidating doesn’t it? Those units rent for around $25 per month. That is pretty pricey. But, it offers peace of mind for moms, and gives Dad a chance to listen. I was lucky with both of my pregnancies because I had friends that owned the units, so I did not have to rent them. That was 2003 and 2006.

Fast forward a few years to 2011, and guess what? There’s an app for that! For only $3.99 pregnant moms can turn their iPhone into a baby doppler with the My Baby’s Beat iPhone app. A one time price of $3.99 is a HUGE discount over $25 per month!

How does it work? Well, your iPhone has a mic, this is what is used to hear and record. Just plug in your headphones without a mic to hear, turn on airplane mode, hold the phone to your belly and move it around until you find your baby’s heartbeat. It is the best sound in the world. Recordings can be saved for listening later, and even emailed to share with family, or email it to yourself to save it to your computer

Check out this video to see how easy it is:

If I ever do lose my mind get pregnant again, I will certainly add this app to my iPhone.

The My Baby’s Beat app can be found in the app store for $3.99.

Thanks so much for this review. I was very curious if it would work for me and IT DID! Amazing! I’ve posted my baby girl’s heartbeat sound on my wall…FUN!
An important tip girls, switch your iPhone to airplain mode, This way you’d feel safe putting a mobile on your belly.
