October is breast cancer awareness month. Breast cancer is one of the leading causes of death among women. The stats are absolutely staggering, and depressing. Five is a very touching, moving, emotional movie about five women whose lives are touched by breast cancer. We all know someone who has been affected. Or, perhaps you are a survivor yourself. Either way, this movie will tug at your heart strings.
The movie is broken broken up into five stories. Each story gives us a little background on the lead, and then shows us how she is affected by breast cancer. The different stories are directed by Jennifer Anniston, Demi Moore, and Alicia Keys, among others. It stars Jeanne Tripplehorn as Pearl, Rosario Dawson as Lili, Patricia Clarkson as Mia, and Lyndsy Fonseca as Cheyanne with other well knows stars thrown in here and there. All of the women profiled are different. They are going through life on a different path, but are linked together by breast cancer. We see how it affects them, their families, and their doctor.
I do not want to give away too much of the movie. It is certainly worth a watch, with tissue nearby as most Lifetime movies call for.
