Protect Your Tax Time Documents with the Fellowes 73Ci Paper Shredder

February 11, 2013 by Kris McDonald Leave a Comment

This post brought to you by Fellowes. All opinions are 100% mine.

Many of us have already received our W2s and 1099 forms, etc. to get started on the 2013 tax season. This can mean sorting through a lot of documents, forms, and check stubs. These are all sensitive documents full of personal information. While most of them either get submitted to the IRS or filed away, what do you do with the copies? What about all the post-it it notes that we may have scribbled personal information on? If we are being responsible we should be destroying those documents. Just tearing them up, or balling them up and tossing them in the trash is not good enough.

You know how I feel about identity theft. It is not good and once it happens it is a pain to clean up your life again. Crafty thieves are on the look out for personal info on the loose, especially around tax season.  They have enough time on their hands to check through trash to find letters or bills, etc. that they can piece together to get what they need. We cannot let them.

The new Fellowes 73Ci includes technology to help you destroy your sensitive documents and keep them out of the hands of identity thieves. Notable features include:

  • 100% Jam Proof
  • SafeSense Technology
  • Energy Saving System
  • Capacitive Touchscreen
  • Cross-cut technology

As you can see this shredder has some awesome features. Cross-cut technology is what makes it virtually impossible for a thief to be able to tape your documents back together. The paper is cut into tiny little squares,  not just long shreds like some other shredders.

If you are a parent, and have children that often visit you or play in your office, you will appreciate the SafeSense technology which automatically stops shredding when hands touch the paper opening. And yes… this will protect clumsy adults as well! It also has an Energy Saving System which is always good for our households.

The geekiest feature is to me is the capacitive touchscreen. Yes, on a shredder! We are used to using them on our smartphones and tablets. Well now this tech has moved on to the Powershred 73Ci shredder.

The Fellowes 73Ci is available for $139.99.

How do you dispose of your sensitive documents now? What do you like most about the features of the 73Ci?
