As a parent to 4 kids, I have started to experience the joy, pain, happiness and sadness of fundraising. It can be hard work. I mean, it’s the kids that are supposed to be doing the fundraising, but it is usually the parents that do all of the work! Luckily I have not had to endure too much yet. However, that is changing as my kids get older. My kids are in Boy Scouts now, and we have already done the popcorn fundraising. And I have purchased Girl Scout cookies, candy, home items, and even more from friends handling fundraising for their children. I love to support!
But we all know that it is hard work… collecting orders, collecting money, turning in the orders, and then delivery takes up a lot of time. This can be easy if you work in an office environment. Coworkers are usually very good about buying goodies. But what if you work from home? This means that you don’t usually see many people from day to day. And who wants to go out door to door bugging the neighbors to buy things? Not me!
This is where All for Schools can help. All for Schools is a new online fundraising platform for schools. It allows for simple online fundraising without the hassle of carrying forms and catalogs, or bugging coworkers. With All For Schools fundraising is easy and painless. With the popularity of social media, you can just simply give your Facebook friends a link to the school fundraising site and ask them to use it when they shop. Or, you can email it to family and friends who you know want to help. Once the school coordinator sets up the school’s account anyone who is associated with the school can use the school website. This may be teachers, school administrators, faculty, students, or relatives.
When you log in you search for your school in the database. All you do from there is click through the All for Schools website for your child’s school and shop online as usual.
You can shop from your favorite places such as Groupon, Amazon, Best Buy, Shoes.com, and more. The beauty of this is not only that you do not have to do the cold calling to fundraise, but those that shop get what they were shopping for anyway.
I have a confession. I am a Groupon junkie. I have taken advantage of many, many deals on Groupon.com. So, when I heard that Groupon was one of the online retailers available through All for Schools, I was very happy. I browsed the other available options like coupons, Amazon.com, and the other retailers available. I then purchased some Studio Movie Grill tickets from Groupon. My kids and I love that theater! It gives you the chance to eat in the theatre while watching a movie.
The whole process was very easy and quick. Since All for Schools is now active in Chicago I will be encouraging my kid’s school to use it.
