Stand Out from the Crowd and Make More Sales

If you want to make a success of your business, then you need to make sales. Pretty obvious, right? What isn’t so obvious thought, is the method through which you can make more sales. Actually there are tons of ways you can convince more customers to spend more money with your business, but one of the best, we think, at least, is to take the time to make your business stand out from the crowd.

After all, it’s a saturated market out there, and anything you can do to tip the scales in your favor, and make your business the one that they’re all talking about can make more difference than you might think.

That being the case, let’s take a look at a few basic things you can do to stand out from the crowd, make more sales, and build a bigger business success, right now.

1. Know Exactly Who You’re Talking To

This may sound overly simplistic, but if you want to stand out from the crowd, then you need to first of all, know exactly who your business is talking to and which companies they are already fans of. So, take some time to think about what you offer and what kinds of people are most likely to be receptive to those offerings.

You can then take the time to look at other brands they might like and what kinds of communications, special offers, etc., they are already offering. The aim is not to copy those other brands (because that would mean you do anything but stand out) but to get a picture of your target audience and what they vibe with, so you can create your own brand that has a message they also vibe with.

It might take you some time to learn what their values are, what kind of language they use, what annoys them, and so on, but it will be worth it when you can tailor your own offering to match them perfectly.

2. Make Your Brand Memorable

Something that a lot of business owners get wrong is making their brand pretty, but failing to make sure it is also memorable.  If you spend more time choosing the colors for your logo that, you do getting the tone of all of your communications and content efforts right, then you are setting yourself up to fail.

So, yes, spend some time on the perfect color palette and logo design, but spend more time on the overall impression of your business. How do you do this? You spend time crafting a voice that is unique to your business, and which is sure to connect with your audience. You develop values that your business stands for. You make your website feel personal. You use the right photos your audience will love. You exude charm and you talk to your customers like friends. This is how you succeed. Personality, not polish; that’s what your brand needs right now.

3. Offer Something That Feels Custom (Even If It’s Not)

If you want to stand out from the crowd, then arguably, there are few better ways of doing so than by offering your customers something that is unique to them, or at least that feels that way.

This doesn’t mean you have to go back to the drawing board and reinvent the wheel, but it does mean that you should try to find a way to offer something that no one else is, something that makes your customers think “this was made for me.” How do you do that? A really simple, and effective way is by creating bundles that meet specific needs. For example, if you run a bakery, you can create a vegan package that gathers together cookies, cakes and sweets that are all suitable for vegans. You can then create another package for bread lovers, where they can buy sourdough, fruit bread, and milk rolls all in one basket, for example. You’re selling the same products you do anyway, but packaging them up to appeal to a target demographic. Easy.

Of course, another way to do it is by literally personalizing your products with engravings or printing that is unique to each customer, but just bear in mind, this will be more work on your part.

4. Show Social Proof (Because People Trust People)

Social proof is a good way of standing out from the crowd, in the best possible way because it basically shows potential customers that you are a brand people like them already love and already trust, and if the people they like and who tgey want to be like, already like you, well then you are on the fast track to being loved by then too.

This means you should make a real effort to get people to review your products and services, give you testimonials, and share your stuff on their social media. You can incentivize them to do this by offering anthem money off, running competitions and giving them free stuff if they do, but make sure it’s authentic and don’t try to get them to lie for you, as that is sure to backfire.

5. Make Sure They Can Actually see You. Duh!

Of course, none of this matters if no one can see you in the first place. It’s hard to stand out from the crowd if the crowd is so dense you can’t even get a look in right?

That’s why you need to do everything you can to support your sales pipeline with digital visibility. You need to be one of the brands that comes up first when people search for whatever it is you are selling on Google, and that requires lots of techniques from SEO to superior content creation to achieve, but if you work hard at it, and maybe consult an expert or two, it can be done.

If you do all of the five things, then you should have no trouble standing out from the crowd and making more sales than ever. Cheers to that!
