A major pet peeve of mine. Most days I would love to find the people that create children’s movies, lock them in a room and torture them by forcing them to watch endless previews and navigate dvd menus while blindfolded.
We have a Kid-mobile (aka mini-van) with 2 DVD players. This is awesome for entertaining the kids, but NOT awesome when its time to change the movie while commuting and you as the driver or passenger in the front seat cannot see the screen to see what the dang menu is on! The previews play too long, then I have to hit enter and SOMETIMES the menu does not default to PLAY. It is so frustrating!! And that Disney’s Fastplay is a joke. Kids movies need to just get straight to the movie!
Done venting for now I think. ๐
Yes, I already know I have the newer and CAN do that from my jack. I just never tried it. I might give that a try via the TV today.
Thanks. ๐
If its over 2 yrs old (your Ipod) you can do it from the headphone jack, if its newer you’ll need an Ipod dock, costs about $50. To plug into the TV use a 3 to 1 (yellow, red, white) RCA cable (like a camcorder would have) to go from the ipod to the tv.

we’ve got all the kids’ movies loaded on this 80 GB Ipod (minus the menus of course). So when we travel we just plug up the ipod and hook it into the dvd player and with a press of a button we can start up a new movie…no dvd’s to change and no menus to get thru ๐
That is a great idea Geena! I have an 80gb iPod and only half the space is used. In the house, we have a Playstation 3, and I have all the kids movies stored on an external 500gb ethernet drive. In my spare time (HA), I rip a few of their movies to it so I don’t have to find disks in the house. Copying some to the iPod is an excellent idea. I need to get some type of adapter to plug up to the component though right?
