So, just as soon as we all got used to saying that name and having great fun with it… they went and changed the name on us! Actually it happened last week, but I’ve been busy. 🙂 I am actually happy about the change. My conversations about who I was working with usually went like this…
Me: “I’m working with a cool company named Kijiji.”
Them: “Say what? Who?”
Me: “Kijiji. K – I – J – I – J – I. You know Ebay right? Well they are Ebay’s version of Craigs List.”
Them: “Oh, ok. I have never heard of it.”
I think the name change was a huge step and one in the right direction with marketing. The name Ebay is probably one of the most well known brands out there, so the renaming to Ebay Classifieds not only clearly states the function of the site, but with the Ebay name now prominent it is clear who the site belongs to. A name we all know and trust. And umm… some of us are addicted to.
So, if you are in the mist of spring cleaning and you need to get rid of the junk consider listing it on the new and improved eBay Classifieds!
