Sending Cheer to Military Families with Cheerios

November 21, 2011 by Kris McDonald Leave a Comment

A couple of weeks ago I wrote a post about the Cheerios sendCheer campaign and my father's experience in the military. And now let's spread some cheer!

This past weekend I visited my local Walmart store to pick up a specially marked box of Cheerios with the sendCheer postcard attached. My kids and I love Cheerios anyway, so I was happy to get a box along with a few other things. Many Walmart stores have special displays setup just for the Cheerios sendCheer campaign that you should look out for.

Have you ever sent a care package to a military family? I think it's awesome especially this time of year. Many soldiers look forward to getting care packages filled with toiletries, snacks, clothes, and more.  Or, if you cannot do that, just a simple  postcard like the sendCheer postcard can do some much to brighten someone's spirits! It's too easy! First you head to Walmart and purchase the sendCheer box of Cheerios…

After you have purchased the box just take it home. You will have to remove the bag of cereal to cut out the card from the front of the box. It's super easy. But, just in case, there are instructions included on the inside of the box.

After you cut out the card on the front, just write a note, attach a stamp and send it off!

Cheerios does the rest! The cards are collected at the Sending Cheer office, which then routes them to a military family.

Do you know someone that you would love to sendCheer? If so, be sure to look out for the display  at your local Walmart.
