When I was much younger, disco was the in thing! You would think that I grew out of that *phase*. But it actually just blossomed and grew when I was in high school. I attended high school from 1988 – 1992. At that time House Music was HUGE in the Chicago area. And a huge part of House is based on disco. Yes, I still love disco.
When many think disco they think about ABBA. ABBA was a popular Swedish group from 1972 – 1982. They had quite a few hits. Are you familiar? If not, check out their YouTube page and watch some videos.
Ubisoft, the makers of Just Dance, has taken 26 of their hits and created ABBA You Can Dance. If you like ABBA, disco, and dancing, pick up then game. Then put on your plaid pants and do some dancing!
We checked out the game this past weekend and had a ball. Speaking of balls… we got an awesome disco ball for our party!
I admit that I was surprised that I was not familiar with more ABBA songs. But then again I was only 8 years old when they broke up! It was fun to go through all of the songs and learn some moves. The game includes 3 modes: Dance, Mini-Musical, and Karaoke. The latter 2 allow you to plug in a USB microphone and sing along. Imagine using this for a karaoke party! Can you say fun??
As usual, my kids were all about trying to dance! It is so funny! I found Dancing Queen on the menu and tried it out. Now that song I do know! There are two options for that song that include the prom or the dance floor which means double the fun.
I am sorry. I’m not brave enough to post a video of myself doing the dances. LOL!! Perhaps after I practice more and get the moves down. 🙂 There is nothing like seeing a video of yourself dancing to a Wii game to make you NOT want to share with with the world. LOL!
ABBA You Can Dance is available for Wii only. It can be purchased from Amazon.com for $29.96.

Ok, seriously. I need that. I love Abba. Not that I listened to it growing up, but it just makes me happy.
