I told a friend last night that I was not “going black” today because I tend to stay out of political issues. However, that does not mean that I don’t have something to say about it. We live in the United States. *Supposedly* one of the big deals about this is that we have free speech. Well, if Congress suddenly decides that they can tell us what we can and cannot say on the internet where that does that leave us? Other nations already police some things. Some of those are communist nations. Some sites are banned in other countries. People get in trouble for speaking their mind. We are supposed to be better than that, right? People come here for freedom.
There is enough other stuff going on in our nation with unemployment, the economy, violence, drugs, unwanted pregnanices, homelessness, and more. Do you really need to spend energy, time, and money on worrying about what is going on on the internet? I think not.
Check out this page on Google about how you can tell Congress to mind their own business and to learn more about SOPA and PIPA.
And that’s all I have to say about that.
