Why I Love eBay for Gadget Accessories

February 26, 2012 by Kris McDonald Leave a Comment

I am sure you have noticed by now that I am a gadget addict. I have been for quite a while. I have treated myself to a new gadget every now and then for a long time. Add to that the fact that my blog and business require me to review many gadgets and you can imagine how many I check out. When getting things like computers, smartphones, tablets, and cameras I want to make sure that my investment (or gift) is protected. And since I have quite a bit, I do not like to spend an arm and a leg on things like cases. If I did, I would be broke. I can just imagine that amount I would be spending if I went to a department store for every phone case purchase! Oy. So, without fail the first site that I hit when I need a new case, bag, or other accessory is eBay.

The items found on eBay are reasonable enough that I do not feel guilty buying more than one at a time or changing every few months. And the selection is huge. Since eBay is powered by thousands of sellers you can to choose from an almost endless selection of accessories.

Search on eBay for something like “pink iPad case” and it returns over 5500 results! When searching I love that I can look for only items that are located in the US, items that are Buy it Now, or that have free shipping. It's make it easy to find exactly what I am looking for.

I have purchased on eBay for years and with the exception of a couple of times I have had awesome luck and have always gotten a great product out of the deal. The key to a happy shopping experience is to check the seller feedback. Feedback shows you that others have bought items from that seller, received their items in good condition, and are happy with their purchase. I only buy from sellers with over 95% or so good feedback. And I recommend buying from US sellers unless you are not in a hurry to receive your items. 🙂

Right now I am hunting on eBay for a case for my new Acer Iconia W500 tablet computer. I checked Amazon.com because I have a gift card, but the selection is just not what it is on eBay for this item. I think I am going to go with this one which allows me to use the keyboard dock while it is still in the case:

Remember, you can find many, many brand names on eBay as well. So, if you are looking for a particular brand bag, case, car charger, etc. you can likely find it on eBay.

Happy shopping!
