By now you have figured out that I have a love of Best Buy. Unfortunately, the store that was closest to me closed down a while ago. While there are still several stores in my area, I prefer to visit the Orland Park location which is over 22 miles away. Why? It is one of the nicer, larger stores. And it is very, very nice! I actually spend quite a bit of time in Orland Park anyway. That is where all the action is! There is a shopping mall, several stand-alone stores, restaurants, movie theatres, and much more. My wedding venue is actually in Orland Park, IL! So the urge to stop in Best Buy hits quite often.
Remodeled stores include new shopping areas which offer more appliances, a best-in-class home theater shopping experience, and new shopping areas from top brands.
The Magnolia Home Theater is the one stop shop to get inspired to configure your home entertainment system. You can get tips and tricks on how to configure all of your components optimized for the best experience, check out televisions, listen to sound components, and much more.
The Orland Park, IL store is one of only 2 locations that currently feature the new Samsung Center Stage display. It is a huge television-like interface and display that showcase Samsung appliances through a unique touch-screen interface. You walk up to it and touch the huge screen! You can swipe to different appliances, and touch the screen to learn specs, facts, and prices. It is pretty cool. I played with it for probably longer than I should have. 🙂
My favorite area is the Samsung Galaxy experience. Here you can play with all the Samsung gadgets your heart desires. Check out the new Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy Tab 4, the Pro series tablets, and more.
In addition to revamping stores, Best Buy has also made a community commitment by becoming lead sponsor for the Chicago City of Learning program. This is a partnership between Chicago Public Schools, DePaul University, the MacArthuur Foundation and the Office of Mayor Rahm Emanuel. The program helps connect youth with online learning opportunities to help them build tech skills. Students earn digital badges for participating in programs. It sounds like a great cause. I am all about kids learning technology.
Head on over to your nearest Best Buy and check out what it has to offer for the holidays.
