How ZEISS Digital Lens Protect Your Eyes From Your Many Devices

I have worn glasses since I was about 11 years old. Is it hereditary? The environment? Who knows. There are many factors that come into play when eyesight is involved. There were no electronic devices when I was young. (Yes, that makes me feel old.) But now, electronic devices are a part of life. ZEISS wants us to know that eyestrain from electronic devices is a problem now more than ever. The ZEISS Digital Lens can help.

Just a few days ago, my kids had their annual eye exam. My girls started wearing glasses a few years ago. And up until now, my boys were fine. We hoped that they took after their dad. But now, at the age of 8, they both need glasses too. Their dad teased me and said that my eyes must be really bad because he still does not need glasses. Hmph. Now, this could be true. It could be my genes. Or it could be the fact that my kids live in the age of technology and they are subjected to a fair amount of screen time at both home and school.

Smartphones, tablets, desktop computers, laptops, gaming devices, and more… These are the many things that now seem to rule our lives. Chances are that you spend a good part of your day looking at some type of mobile or electronic device. While this may be good for our business, our pocketbooks, or our minds, it is not so good for our eyes.

Did you know that up to 70% of patients are already suffering from digital eye strain? That is a large number. However, that is not surprising given the number of hours that we all spend using computers or mobile devices to improve or streamline our lives. Spending several hours a day in front of a computer screen can cause headaches, burning eyes, blurry vision, and fatigue. It is important to take breaks. However, we don’t all have that luxury if it is our job. Fortunately, technology can actually help your eyes as well. ZEISS has created the Digital Lens. The Digital Lens is primarily designed for patients ages 25 to 45 who use their mobile phones and tablets throughout the day. Yes, we know, as we get older our eyes need a little more help. 🙂

How Does the ZEISS Digital Lens Work?

BENEFITS FOR THE WEARER

  • Stress/strain-free digital viewing
  • Comfortable all-day vision
  • Relief from Digital Eye Strain
  • Wide material availability.

The ZEISS Digital Lens provides a wide, clear distance zone and comfortable near zone for stress-free viewing of digital screens. This means less eyestrain if you have to be in front of a computer screen all day. The lenses are designed for all-day wear. The ZEISS Digital Lens is ideal for single vision patients who suffer from Digital Eye Strain.

PRODUCT FEATURES AT A GLANCE

  • Optimized lens design to support close-up vision for digital devices.
  • Large distance zone to match the visual profile of single vision wearers or patients who do not even wear glasses.
  • Variable near power based on the patient’s needs.
  • A rapid transition to the near power for natural eye movement when reading devices.

Now, we are not saying that the ZEISS Digital Lens will correct all of your vision problems. However, it will certainly help if you live in front of a screen. You should protect your eyes and reduce eyestrain whenever you can.

If you are concerned about your eye health due to heavy device usage talk to your eye care professional about the ZEISS Digital Lens. Read more on the ZEISS website and look up an eye care professional near you.
