Not too long ago I gave you tips on teaching your kids about holiday safety. And now that December is upon us this is even more relevant. As families go holiday shopping more and more items including expensive gadgets are coming into the home. Thieves realize this. They are looking for homes that appear to be easy targets. Once in the homes they may target existing items and seek out new Christmas presents that they can easily get away with. It is important to keep your home and items secured. The same goes for school. If your kids use lockers they may have laptops or tablets locked in their lockers for part of the day. Be sure that they have a secure lock to protect their items.
Last month Master Lock launched new Bluetooth Smart Padlocks that combine Bluetooth Smart technology with security. The locks allow you to quickly use your smartphone to open the lock, without needing a traditional combination. This makes using it when in a hurry awesome. You can also give access to another user who can also use their smartphone to unlock the lock. Each user will need to sign up for a free Master Lock Vault account, and download the Master Lock Vault eLocks app from the Apple store or the Google Play store.
Of course since it’s a Master Lock this Bluetooth Smart Padlock is just as secure as you would expect. The added features make it easier to use.

Setting Up the Master Lock 4400D Bluetooth Smart Padlock
Setting up the lock was fairly easy. The first step is to download the Master Lock Vault eLocks app from either the Apple App Store or Google Play store depending on your device. Adding your lock is as easy as inputting the code included at the top of the instructions that came with your lock.
Using Your Master Lock 4400D Bluetooth Smart Padlock
Once added you will have access to open and manage your lock. You can also look up or change the primary code, and add a guest. Guests can be added from your contacts list or by typing in guest information.
To open your lock all you have to do is open the eLocks app, tap any button on the lock, and the app does the rest. You don’t even have to unlock your phone! I even tried it without opening the app and it worked. Of course if you prefer to use the directional keypad on the lock to open it, you can easily do that too.
Overall the Master Lock 4400D Bluetooth Smart Padlock seems like a great lock for use on lockers or anywhere else you need secure indoor storage. The Master Lock 4400D is available for $49.99. And while it is an indoor version there is also an outdoor version, the Master Lock 4401DLH. It is available for $59.99. Check out the Master Lock Bluetooth Smart Padlock site for more information.
