I have mentioned before that applying screen protectors to my devices makes me nervous. I clear a space. I wash my hands. I psych myself up and I get to work. LOL. Major props go to companies that make screen protector installation just about flawless and easy. This was my experience with the intelliGLASS HD screen protector by intelliARMOR.
Why is the intelliGLASS HD better?
The intelliGLASS HD screen protector is made with an ultra hard (9H) glass inner layer and an “Oleophobic” (the same stuff used on eyeglasses) outer layer to prevent scratches, absorb shocks, and repel oil & grease. And since it’s made from real glass, your touchscreen usage remains accurate, and the screen stays clear.
Features
SUPER THIN – Get complete protection with the world’s thinnest real glass screen protector. Super-slim glass screen preserves the original aesthetic of your device.
ULTRA CLEAR – View bright, crisp colors with maximum transparency and enjoy full touch sensitivity.
EXCEPTIONALLY STRONG – Specially crafted to deliver maximum scratch resistance and defend against even the hardest bumps and knocks. intelliGLASS is designed to have better scratch resistance than steel.
OLEOPHOBIC COATING – Say no to smudges and fingerprints. intelliGLASS sports a specially formulated oleophobic coating that resists all signs of contact with your finger.
EFFORTLESS INSTALLATION – Forget trial-and-error installations. With advanced silicone adhesion technology, you’ll get it on perfectly the first time! And if it doesn’t, all our products are backed by our world-class customer support.
Installation
I had no problem installing the intelliGLASS using the included instructions. The process is like installing most others. First you want to clean your phone clean very well. I love that intelliARMOR includes several items in the kit that help with this. Some others may include only a microfiber cloth. The intelliARMOR kit includes not only that, but also an alcohol wipe, and dust removal tape to make sure that your screen is free of all dust and debris.
Step 1. Wash Your Hands. This is to make sure that you have no oils or dust on your fingers.
Step 2. Wipe your screen with the alcohol wipe.
Step 3. Use the microfiber cloth to dry and polish the screen.
Step 4. Use the included dust tape to go over the whole screen and make sure that there is no dust.
Step 5. Remove the protective cover from the intelliGLASS.
Step 6. Line up the intelliGLASS with your device and lay it down carefully. If you don’t quite get it perfect, you can carefully pull it up and try again.
Step 7. Use your fingers to carefully rub from the middle of the screen out to make sure that it has full contact.
Unlike other screen protectors that I have installed the intelliGLASS went on without any bubbles or dust. And I got it even on the first try. SCORE!! All it would have taken was that one spec to mess everything up, but it was smooth. I think the rigidity of the product helps this. Instead of sticking down one end and slowly sticking it and flattening it out as you go, you can just easily drop the whole piece in place after it is lined up correctly.
Issues
The one issue that I had with the intelliGLASS HD screen protector for my Note 5 is that the slightly curved design on the edge of the Note 5 screen and the rigidity of screen protector don’t match up. This causes a slight gap all around the edge of the intelliARMOR. The look of this bugs me a little. I ws hoping that my case would take up that gap and cover the edges, but it didn’t quite make it. I worry about dust getting under there and adhering to the sticky side of the screen protector. Hopefully this will not be a problem.
