Models include the lower cost Motorola Moto E5, Samsung Galaxy J3, LG Stylo 4 ranging in price from only $59.99 to $149.99. Looking for something a bit more higher end? They also offer the Samsung Galaxy S7, Galaxy S8, Galaxy S9, or Apple iPhone 7. These range in price from $249.99 to $414.99. But remember, this is just a one time cost! You don’t have to worry about paying a monthly fee on your phone purchase.
A few days ago, I claimed my own TextNow number. Setup was super easy! Within minutes I was sending a text message. And I was even able to claim a number in my own area code!

After testing this service, I think this is absolutely perfect for a child who needs a phone to keep in touch with family. This is a constant argument on social media. Some parents believe that kids don’t need phones, some do. My opinion is that it’s important for kids to have a cell phone if they spend any time traveling the streets by themselves. This includes walking to and from school, riding the school bus, riding public transportation, or participating in after school events. However, they do not need the top of the line smartphone with every feature under the sun. This makes TextNow perfect.
The cost of a traditional smartphone plan can be a bit much for some families. But, the TextNow service is pretty awesome and low cost.
