Managing rental properties has always been a bit of a juggling act. Between listing units, screening your tenants, managing leases, and also collecting rent, the process can be overwhelming. This is especially true for independent landlords. The good news is that in 2025, there’s no need for you to go it alone.

That is where TurboTenant steps in. The platform is built with simplicity and scalability in mind. It has become one of the top property management tools that are on the market.

Its popularity is due to the fact that it offers a wide range of features that will help landlords to take control of their rentals.

They can do this without needing a property management company or even complicated software.

How does it really perform in real life? In this review, we are going to break down what it is like to use TurboTenant.

We will explore its strengths, and cover a few areas where it could improve. This way you will find out if TurboTenant is worth using in 2025?

What is TurboTenant?

TurboTenant is an all-in-one property management software. It is built specifically with DIY landlords in mind.

Unlike those enterprise-level tools that will require intensive onboarding or very high monthly fees, TurboTenant was made to be intuitive, mobile-friendly, and also cost-effective at the same time.

The platform allows users to:

  • Market their rental listings across several different websites
  • Screen tenants using background as well as credit checks
  • Generate some state-specific leases
  • Collect rent from tenants online
  • Track tenant maintenance requests

The user interface is clean, and you can handle everything from a single dashboard. It doesn’t matter if you are  managing one unit or fifty.

TurboTenant also has optional upgrades such as advanced accounting tools as well as faster rent payouts, it offers you a professional experience without you having to deal with a steep learning curve.

Pros and Cons of Using TurboTenant

Pros

1. Seamless Listing Syndication

One of TurboTenant’s strongest features is the fact that it gives excellent listing distribution. When you create a new rental listing, the platform will automatically syndicate it to dozens of extremely popular rental websites. This saves landlords from doing hours of manual posting.

2. Robust Tenant Screening

Tenant screening will often make or break a rental experience. TurboTenant will provide you with in-depth screening reports that also include criminal history, and eviction records.

You will also get credit scores, and employment verification as well. The best part? Applicants will pay for the screening themselves, so as a landlord you don’t have to absorb the cost.

3. Lease Generation That’s State-Specific

TurboTenant will provide customizable lease agreements that are tailored to the laws of your state.

These leases are thorough and extremely sound legally, which will help to protect both parties. You can edit clauses and also add your own terms with a lot of ease.

4. Online Rent Collection (With Auto-Pay)

Collecting rent by check or cash is now outdated. TurboTenant will allow tenants to pay online. They can do this via ACH, credit, or even debit.

You can set up recurring auto-pay for tenants and send them rent reminders. You can also view payment history all from within the app.

5. Mobile-Friendly Interface

In 2025, everything must be accessible on the go. TurboTenant delivers on this.

It doesn’t matter if you are using the desktop platform or the mobile app, the experience is always smooth and reliable. Landlords can approve new applicants, sign leases, or they can respond to maintenance requests from just about anywhere.

6. Optional Upgrades for Advanced Features

TurboTenant doesn’t force every user to get a premium plan. Instead, it offers upgrades which you can do when needed.

You can try upgrades such as advanced income and expense tracking. You can get faster rent payouts, and 1099 tax reporting as well. You only pay for what you truly need.

7. Free Core Features

For many landlords, TurboTenant’s core features which are listing, screening, and leasing, along with basic rent collection are totally free. This alone makes it incredibly attractive for those who are managing one or two properties.

 Cons

1. Limited Customization for Larger Portfolios

TurboTenant works excellently for small to mid-sized portfolios. However,  those who are managing hundreds of units may find that the customization features are a bit limited.

2. No In-House Maintenance Scheduling (Yet)

TurboTenant allows tenants to submit maintenance requests. but the actual scheduling as well as vendor coordination still falls on the landlord.

3. Rent Payouts Can Be Slow (Unless You Upgrade)

The standard payout time for rent collections is often 3–5 business days. This may feel a bit slow to some. However, TurboTenant offers a “Fast Payouts” upgrade if you want to have quicker access to funds.

Who Should Use TurboTenant?

TurboTenant is an ideal choice for:

  • First-time landlords who want a straightforward solution
  • Part-time investors who are managing a handful of units
  • Tech-savvy landlords who want to have mobile access along with automation
  • Budget-conscious owners who don’t want to overpay in order to have basic property management tools

If you are  someone who prefers to keep things lean and avoid those high overheads, TurboTenant is a near-perfect fit.

On the other hand, if you are managing dozens or hundreds of units and you have a dedicated staff and need very robust accounting integrations, then a more advanced platform may be a better fit for you.

What Makes TurboTenant Stand Out in 2025?

In a crowded landscape of property management software, TurboTenant continues to distinguish itself by being landlord-first.

Here’s why:

  • Get simplicity without sacrificing power
  • There are no mandatory subscriptions.
  • It is mobile-ready and provides fast onboarding
  • There are constant feature updates

This focus on user experience and affordability is what makes it one of the most effective platforms available in 2025.

Final Verdict: Is TurboTenant Worth It?

Yes, absolutely.

TurboTenant strikes a very rare balance between power and usability. It doesn’t require you to master a steep learning curve.

It also doesn’t charge you bloated fees, and it offers meaningful features that actually simplify a landlord’s workflow. If you want to stay hands-on without being overwhelmed, it’s a clear winner.

In a market that is flooded with complex tools as well as overpriced subscriptions, TurboTenant feels like a huge breath of fresh air. It is simple, effective, and is built for the people that actually use it.
