HP Photosmart Premium Touchsmart Web review

On November 15, I attended an HP VIP Blogger Cinema Demo for the HP Photosmart Premium Touchsmart Web Printer. Thanks to my baby girl and first born Alexis who pulled my name out of the box, I won one! I have been using this printer for a little over a month and I must say that I love it. I’m a photographer, and I do a LOT of photo printing, I make calendars, greeting cards, photo albums, and more. I delayed doing my review because I really needed to put it through the ringer.

I can honestly say that I love this thing! The photo prints are outstanding. My kids quickly and easily learned how to navigate and print coloring sheets.

The printer came with 2 awesome reusable bags. One is a very large shopping bag that the printer

came in. Not that you would want to carry it around anywhere. It’s not exactly portable. The other is a small zip up bag awesome for carrying computer accessories.

Setup was quick and easy and it found my wireless network without a problem. The touchscreen is very bright and very responsive to touch. It is based on skin touch just like the iPhone. You slide your finger across the screen to scroll through the options.

On screen options include Snapfish, Disney Family, Google Maps, USA Today, Coupons, Printables, Fandango, Dreamworks, Recipes, Calendar (Google Calendar), Tabbloid, and HP Crafts.

Under each of these options are plenty of fun and interesting things to do. You can instantly print movie tickets or view trailers under Fandango. Or find and easily print a recipe under the Recipe menu choice.

Pros

  • Super easy setup
  • Fast printing
  • Individual ink cartridges save on ink waste
  • Lots of cool features
  • Very responsive touchscreen

Cons

  • Borderless printing chops off a tiny bit on the edge of the print. A problem when printing something with borders
  • Some of the features are a bit slow to load since it has to connect to the internet for every function, but that is expected.
  • Loses 2 features that I loved on the previous model, the auto sheet feeder and CD printing.

Summary

Outstanding, easy to use, fast, reliable  photo printer. Has great features that any busy mom (or dad) can use, or can be used for a small business printer. The photo prints are outstanding, and options are great. The scan, fax and copy functions make it the perfect choice for a small home office.  See my video below to get more info on using this printer.

I used it to print several 8 x 10 inch photos for Christmas gifts as well as smaller prints to fill these frames that I bought 2 years ago!I finally put some beautiful pics of my kids in them.

Nice list of pros. The disadvantages doesn’t overshadowed the pros.

Aww, great review! I echo @AngelaatHP's comments… and thrilled you love it too.

PS The gigantic reusable bag… I use it for taking clothes to and from the dry cleaners. Perfect! 🙂

We have a photosmart printer too but not that version. I think ours is an older model but I still love it!! I especially love that I can print pictures directly from my computer to the printer…no more ordering pics at Target for me anymore!

I saw your comment on Heather's blog that you have two sets of twins so I had to come over and say hello! I have 2 sets of twins too!! It's always nice to meet other moms of multiple multiples!
