Happy International Women’s Day

Yep, that’s right. It is! So to all of your women out there making strides HAPPY INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY!! There are so many inspiring women in my life. Honestly, a few years ago before become a blogger and before making my way on to the “scene” I would never have imagined so many women doing so many great things. From blogging to speaking to leading campaigns to raising children to running companies, we do SO much. Women are making big strides in the business world, and we are just getting started! For years I was used to being one of the only techie women that I knew. I was working in an office full of men. Now, I know plenty of women just like me that are into technology. It is wonderful! I have always known that was the path that I wanted to head down, and I am making it happen.

In honor of International Women’s Day take a few minutes to think about what you want to accomplish. Do you want to make a name for yourself? Do you want to start a business? Do you want to organize your closets? LOL. Whatever it is… write it down. Or better yet, create a vision board. Put is somewhere that you can glance at it whenever you need inspiration. And then, get it done.

If you have daughters, talk to them about what they can accomplish in life. For example, my girls are a part of the Chicago Pre-College Science and Engineering Program. Even though they are only in 4th grade they get to learn about engineering as part of this program. ChiS&E is just one example of a program that girls can get involved in to show that they too can be engineers. There are a ton of STEM programs out there that your children can be a part of.

I am working on accomplishing my own goals. I know where I want to be. I just need to work on getting it done.

I am a woman. I am a tech. I CAN get it done!
