google_storageI have been using Google Drive for quite some time. I love the fact that it is so integrated in my Google life. I subscribe to the 100gb plan for $4.99 per month. That storage applies to all things Google, so it benefits me greatly. I was happy to receive the following email from Google today:

Changes to your Google storage plan

We’re contacting you because you currently pay for additional storage across Google Drive, Gmail and Google+ photos, and we wanted to let you know that we just launched new and improved storage plans. We’ll automatically adjust your plan by 11 April 2014 to give you a lower rate for the same amount of storage.

Your current plan is:
100 GB for $4.99 USD per month

Your new plan will be:
100 GB for $1.99 USD per month

No action is required, but you can select a different plan at any time.

Clicking for more information reveals the following new plans

Google Drive storage plans

Choose from the following monthly Google Drive storage plans to be shared between Google Drive, Gmail, and Google+ Photos.

Storage Monthly Rate
100 GB $1.99
1 TB $9.99
10 TB $99.99
20 TB $199.99
30 TB $299.99

At a time when everyone else is raising the prices of services, this was a welcome surprise.

Check out the Google Storage website to sign up or change your storage plan.
