Yes, Girls Do Dig Cars – Cars.com Best of 2019

February 23, 2019 by Kris McDonald Leave a Comment

Last night, I looked at my husband and jokingly said, “sometimes I think I’m supposed to be a dude.” Yes, he gave me a crazy look. LOL! But, the bottom line is that I like cars probably more than your average girl. This is why I attend the Chicago Auto Show every year. Sometimes I attend with a group, or a brand, or sometimes I just go on my own. This year I hung out with A Girl’s Guide to Cars and Cars.com.

Spring is in just a few weeks (YAYYYY!!!) and for me this means warmer weather, more daylight, and a much cleaner SUV! And for other this may mean car shopping. Spring is a very busy car shopping time. No matter what you were looking for, if you visited the Chicago Auto Show, you probably saw it. And to help weed out the best of the best while browsing, we got the lowdown from Cars.com.

Cars.com took us on a tour to see winning cars in their 2019 Best of Awards. The Best of Awards showcases cars in several categories including Luxury Car of the Year, Most Fun-to-Drive Car, Family, Best Pickup, and overall Best Of 2019. Here are the winners:

Luxury Car of the Year – Mercedes-Benz S-Class

When you think of a luxury vehicle, there is no doubt that Mercedes is near the top of the list. The Mercedes-Benz S-Class is the top of the sedan. With a starting price of over $91,000 it is no secret that this car is gear towards those who want the best of the best. At this level, it is not about needs, but wants. And, you can get it all. Options like heated rear seats, multi-contour seats with massage, an electrically heated windshield, and more… the price can sore. However, Cars.com obviously thinks that it is worth every penny.

Most Fun-to-Drive Car of the Year – Mazda MX-5 Miata

Back before I was a mom to 2 sets and twins I love the Mazda Miata! The 2019 Most Fun-to-Drive car is the Mazda Mx-5 Miata. That is such a cute, sexy little car! Even though it’s not the fastest out there, Cars.com gave it the prize. The feather-light, sports car definitely turns heads. And the motor has been given a boost for 2019 which makes it handle corners in a fun, safe way.

Family Car of the Year (Chrysler Pacifica)

The Chrysler Pacific has gone through a few changes. I remember when the Chrysler Pacifica was not a minivan. From 2004 -2008 it was a min-size crossover. It disappeared for a while and came back in 2015 as a very nice minivan. Now officially the replacement for the Chrysler Town & Country, the Pacifica is full of family friendly features for those who spend a lot of time in their car. And the Pacific is the first minivan to offer a hybrid version.

Best Pickup Truck of 2019 (Ram 1500)

I have a thing for pick up trucks! They are not practical for my life… at all! But, they are so cool! One day when space and money are not an issue I am getting one! And the 2019 Dodge Ram 1500 is on my radar. Voted Best Pickup Truck of 2019 you cannot go wrong with this sexy beast! I remember when pickups used to be ugly, well not anymore. The Dodge Ram 1500 is fully of luxurious features like leather seats, an impressive multimedia system with a huge screen, and other features that you might fine in a really nice SUV.

Best of 2019 (Genesis G70)

Winning Best of 2019 is a huge deal. This honor goes to the Genesis G70. Genesis is Hyundai’s luxury brand which was recently split off. 10 years ago the original Hyundai Genesis won the same award. 10 years later the G70 shows off its beautiful body and luxurious interior. The body style reminds me of that of a Lexus, but with more oomph.
