My boys are huge gamers. If I would let them, they would have no problem playing one of their favorite games all day long. One of those new favorite games is Starlink: Battle for Atlas for XBox One.
I wish that I had the time to game like I used to. I’m an Atari 2600 kid! There used to be a time when I played all the time. As a matter of fact, I still have a working Atari 2600. 🙂 However, even though I don’t have a lot of time to play, I do enjoy jumping in every now and then or at least watching so I know what they are up to.
What is Starlink: Battle for Atlas?
Starlink: Battle for Atlas is an open-world space saga game by Ubisoft. It features modular toy technology that allows players to build their own starships which they can link to their game controller, and launch into an adventure across the Atlas star system, either in single-player or with a friend in two-player split-screen local co-op.
Starlink: Battle for Atlas Starter Packs come with:
-
- Controller mount
- Flamethrower weapon
- Frost barrage weapon
- Mason Rana pilot
- Poster
- Shredder weapon
- Starlink video game
- Zenith starship
But, you can add even more! In addition to the Starter Pack, you can buy additional kits that add more functionality to the game. We also received the Lance ship with Hunter Hakka and an Imploder, Levy McCray, and a Crusher and Shredder MK.2. You can swap out the ship and weapons on your controller at any time during the game.
Using these things, you are part of a group of heroic interstellar pilots, dedicated to freeing the Atlas Star System from Grax and the Forgotten Legion.
I watched my son play Starlink: Battle for Atlas after building his starship, and I found it fascinating! This is all new to me. I had no idea you could plug cool things like spaceships into the controller! Not sure what I thought that plug was for. LOL! Each modular component and pilot attached to the starship appears instantly in-game, allowing players to affect the course of their battle. The game will even tell you recommended weapons to fight opponents depending on their weakness.
Even my husband got in on the action. I left him alone for like 2 minutes and he had it all figured out. He destroyed 4 out of 4 targets – The Drakes. Good job!
I have to say, games have come a long way since Ping Pong! The graphics are just incredible. And when I was watching the intro I felt like I was watching a movie.
If you have gamer kids definitely check Starlink: Battle for Atlas! It’s available for Sony Playstation 4, XBox One and Nintendo Switch. It’s a very cool game for ages 7+.
Right now, the Starlink: Battle for Atlas Starter Packs are available for an incredible price of only $34.99. Go spend those gift cards! 🙂
